We keep cookies to a minimum. Our visitor statistics are cookieless.
Strictly necessary (always on)
| Name | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
sid | Set on your first visit. It protects our forms against cross-site attacks and keeps you logged in when you sign in. | Up to 30 days after your last visit |
sk_chat_v1 (local storage) | Only once you start a live chat: keeps the conversation open as you move between pages (see Live chat). | Cleared the next time you visit after 24 hours without using the chat, or straight away when you choose "Start a new chat" |
pb_check_v1 (session storage) | Only while you use the free checker: keeps your answers if the page reloads, so you don't lose them. | Cleared when you finish the check or close the tab |
pb_cl_<case> (local storage) | Only if you tick items on your case page's evidence checklist: remembers your ticks on this device. | Until you clear this site's data |
These don't need your consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, because they're strictly necessary for the site to work or for something you've asked for.
Optional advertising and analytics cookies (only if you accept)
We don't currently use any optional cookies.
